Welcome back.....i've missed you so...
And so I have been MIA, at least in blogger land. Really I am here, but life is consuming me. I hardly have time to read a book, go to a movie, have a drink with a friend (okay so I am MUCH better at prioritizing this one...), let alone have time to keep you all up to date with the Rector family and all our comings and goings. Fact is, this fall is going to be crazy busy so I wouldn't get all excited reading this post and thinking I am out of hiding and going to start writing regularly. HA! I kill me. Who am I kidding? The people [person] who read this know me better than that and have quite low expectations. (Thanks Adam!)
So...what is new? Here are the cliff's notes on the last (what was the last post? April?!? Sheesh I AM behind) 5 months:
- Colin is still going to the greatest school in the city; he loves it!!
- I am still working for a great company down south and so is Doug. This of course means that we are BOTH still driving a combination of 50+ miles roundtrip each day. GROSS!
- However this copious amount of driving has led to our recent purchase of a fun new vehicle. It is silver and has the cool vista roof and I LOVE IT!!
- We just got back from a long weekend in Tucson with the Antrim relations. It was a very relaxing and wonderful time, plus Jim's salad rocked the house!! You just can't beat a pool in the backyard on a 101 degree day. And the mountains...BEAUTIFUL!!
- Doug and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary this summer...crazy huh?!? We should both probably jsut feel lucky that we are still alive! HA! More seriously, we have weathered some storms, and I am sure we will weather some more, but I am looking forward to weathering some more TOGETHER. {love you dude!}
- In celebration of this milestone anniversary, Doug and I split town and hung out in Branson for the weekend at a great place. We had massages (Doug's first, he is sold!!) and did some shopping and just...well...spent time together. It was wonderful!
- We have been to the Zoo a few times.
- The 'Rents have moved closer to the city and are now planting some roots in friendly Pleasant Hill, MO.
And that pretty much covers it. See you didn't miss much! I am uploading some pictures tonight so hopefully I can get some posted prior to Thanksgiving! :)
Uh....and if you want to talk politics, I have an opinion or two to share!
