And now, a general family update. Things are still a little crazy in the Rector household. Work is going well for both of us. Doug is (as expected) already kicking ass at his new job. He has training in May a couple of times, so the boy and I will have to fend for ourselves. YIKES! Doug also get to go visit his friend Ray in Chicago in May, and he is really looking forward to that trip.
I went to a conference in Chicago a week or so ago and got to spend some time with Erin. I just miss her, we had so much fun! my job is picking back up with pre-planning for our regional summits in the fall, but things are still manageable yet.
On the home front we have completely stopped with any work on the house. Doug really burnt himself out with all the stuff right before Colin's birthday party. We still have a little work to do there, and when it is all done I will post some pictures of the new dining and living rooms. As a matter of fact, one we get those done we will have only the kitchen and hearth room left. WOW! Doug has really done an amazing job at all the renovations and of course Guy has been extremely helpful as well. I can't even imagine how much money we have saved doing the work ourselves.
Colin is growing and learning and changing every single day right now. He is saying a ton of new words and we are just right on the brink of running independently. That boy is so busy, he can't sit still for a minute, well unless we are reading books (over and over and over....). Next week we go to Children's Mercy for Botox injections in his legs (to help us get the muscles in a place where we can re-train them). That won't be fun for any of us! Colin has also started back up with hipppotherapy again this year. He is riding on Iris every Thursday night and loves it!
We will have the Rector Crew in the Crawl for Cancer again this year, May 12 is the big day. Our team has fluctuated a little this time around, but a few of us are constants (Emily, Me, Doug) and we are welcoming back some original team members this time...Kim and Michael!! Should be an extreme amount of fun!
I think that catches us up for now. More 'soon'! :)
